The BookMyShow app experiences crashes as tickets for the Coldplay concert in India are released.

Since the announcement of the Coldplay concert in India, fans have been eagerly anticipating the ticket sales. Coldplay is returning after nine long years, and the ticket booking day finally arrived. Fans were ready with their laptops and phones to secure their spots for the concert in Mumbai, but disappointment awaited them—though it wasn't entirely surprising.

The tickets were supposed to go live at 12 PM on September 22nd, but numerous technical issues arose during the sale. Hundreds of thousands of fans were lined up to purchase tickets for the concert at DY Patil Stadium. However, when the clock struck noon, they were greeted with error messages on both the website and the app instead of ticket access.

Many fans reported that despite waiting since 12 PM, the tickets didn’t go live until 12:15 PM. It wasn’t until 12:18 PM that a few managed to successfully book their tickets. Several users also experienced crashes once sales commenced.

Frustrated fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their discontent. One fan lamented, “I can’t believe this! It felt like my turn, yet when I selected my tickets, they showed as unavailable. This is truly heartbreaking!”

Comedian Samay Raina even tweeted, “BookMyShow, why don’t you ask your team to fix you? 😭😭” referencing Coldplay’s song “Fix You.”

As the sole ticket distributor for the concert, BookMyShow has yet to release a statement regarding the issues. Many are hoping for an update, especially since they also struggled to secure tickets.
